Northwestern Law Reunion 2008

Friday, October 3
Alumni Community Day at Northwestern Law
A day long celebration for the entire Northwestern Law alumni community. Tour the law school, sit in on a class, participate in special alumni programming, and enjoy great food and fun.

Classes Without Quizzes
8:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.
There is no need to fear the Socratic Method when you sit in on a law class during Reunion weekend! Class schedules will be available at the Alumni Registration Desk in the Atrium.

Tours
Noon
Take a guided tour of the Law School with a Northwestern Law student, or you can go on a self guided tour using an information sheet available at the Alumni Registration Desk that describes key Law School classrooms and structures.

Career Changes and Choices: Who Am I....and Where Do I Go From Here?
4 – 5:15 p.m.
Nationally renowned speaker and author Cheryl Rich Heisler ( JD '83), president and founder of LAWTERNATIVES, will deliver a keynote presentation and moderate a panel of your fellow alumni to discuss the decisions that helped shape their careers.

Professional Responsibility CLE Program
5:30 – 6:30 p.m.
In the first of a series of three professional education (CLE) events, Professor Steven Lubet moderates a lively discussion of crucial issues in advocacy and legal ethics, as raised in the film To Kill a Mockingbird. Alumni Community Day Party
5:30 – 7:30 p.m.
Enjoy festive music and food, catch up with classmates, and meet current students and faculty.

John Henry Wigmore Club Reception
By invitation. A private area inside the main tent will be reserved for John H.Wigmore Club members. Registration required for Young Wigmore members,Wigmore Club members who support the Law School with gifts of $1,000 or more annually, and Wigmore Scholarship recipients.

Tax Program Reception
7 – 8:30 p.m.
Celebrate with the alumni of the class of 2003, the first Tax Program class to return for its fifth Reunion, and reconnect with fellow Tax Program alumni, current students, and faculty.

Second Annual Student Funded Public Interest Fellowship (SFPIF) "Paper Chase"

Second Annual Student Funded Public Interest Fellowship (SFPIF) "Paper Chase"
5k Run/Walk in Lincoln Park
$25 per person
Join fellow alumni, students, and friends of the Northwestern Law community for this fun and collegial event in beautiful Lincoln Park. Transportation will be provided to and from the Law School, and refreshments will be available on-site before the race. A post-run party will be held at the Law School.

Bluhm Legal Clinic Reception
4:30 – 6 p.m.
The Bluhm Legal Clinic now houses the Appellate Advocacy Program, Center for International Human Rights, Center on Wrongful Convictions, Children and Family Justice Center, Investor Protection Center, Roderick MacArthur Justice Center, and the Small Business Opportunity Center. Join director Tom Geraghty (JD '69), faculty, and students to hear more about the Clinic’s achievements and its strong commitment to the Northwestern Law community.

Reunion Grand Celebration
5:30 – 7 p.m.

Cocktail Reception
The tented courtyard provides a festive backdrop for the Law School’s biggest cocktail party of the year. Don’t miss this special opportunity to renew old friendships and visit with faculty and students before the class dinners.

Class Dinners
7 – 9 p.m.
Join your class at a unique location in the Law School that has been transformed to give you an opportunity to catch up with classmates and reminisce about the "good ole days." Dean David Van Zandt will visit each class dinner. A buffet dinner will be provided with an open bar.

Dessert Reception
9 – 11 p.m.
Dance the night away and enjoy the chocolate fountain, live music, and an assortment of desserts in the tented courtyard.
