1/19/05 - 1/21/05 NYSE Regulatory Official to Speak at 32nd Annual Securities Regulation Institute

Richard Ketchum, chief regulatory officer of the New York Stock Exchange, will deliver a luncheon address at Northwestern University School of Law's 32nd Annual Securities Regulation Institute to be held January 19 to 21 at the Hotel del Coronado in Coronado, Calif.

The conference, which offers a comprehensive analysis of recent developments in the field of securities law, will cover boardroom counseling and shareholder relations; post-Sarbanes-Oxley enforcement, litigation, and judicial developments; as well as the latest trends in financial reporting, disclosure practices, and market communications.

"This year's program will be particularly important because we will discuss the implications of the recently proposed far reaching changes to the way offerings can be conducted," said Ed Greene, chair of the Institute and general counsel for Citigroup's Global Corporate and Investment Bank

The NYSE appointed Ketchum to its regulatory function in June 2004. His experience as the head of the Securities and Exchange Commission's Division of Market Regulation and the president of NASDAQ and NASD will provide further insight for his speech.

In addition to Ketchum's address on January 20, a distinguished group of speakers and panelists drawn from leading securities practitioners, academics, and SEC officials will present practical solutions to the challenges facing corporate lawyers and corporate counsel. Panelists include Stephen M. Cutler, SEC Director of Enforcement, and Delaware Supreme Court Chief Justice Myron T. Steele among others.

This event is part of Northwestern University School of Law's continued efforts to build upon the strengths of its nationally prominent continuing legal education program by addressing evolving concerns of today's legal and business worlds.
