1/7/04 - 1/8/04 SEC CHAIRMAN TO SPEAK AT POLICY CONFERENCE

William H. Donaldson, chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, will deliver the keynote address at the Mutual Fund Directors Forum’s fourth annual policy conference to be held January 7 and 8 at the St. Regis Hotel in Washington, D.C.

Donaldson and other Senior SEC officials will be speaking to independent investment company directors from across the country at this high-level event, titled “Crucial Issues for Investment Company Directors.” They will address timely topics related to the recent mutual fund scandals, including late trading, market timing, and fair valuation as well as current SEC proposals regarding director selection and the nomination process.

The conference is presented by the Mutual Fund Directors Forum with the support and cooperation of Northwestern University School of Law and extensive participation by the SEC.

Tuition to attend is $795. For more information call (312) 503-8932 or visit http://www.law.northwestern.edu/contexec/cle/mutualfunds/.

The Mutual Fund Directors Forum is a membership organization for independent directors of mutual funds. Dedicated to improving mutual fund governance, the forum provides independent directors with opportunities to discuss critical issues and offers them continuing education and outreach programs.

The event is brought in part through Northwestern University School of Law's continued efforts to build upon the strengths of its nationally prominent continuing legal education program by aggressively addressing evolving concerns of today’s legal and business worlds.
