Northwestern Law Teams Win Two Trial Competitions
Two Northwestern Law trial teams won recent competitions, including a championship at the Buffalo-Niagara Invitational Mock Trial Tournament and a victory in a trial advocacy competition that focuses on employment and labor litigation.
International Criminal Court Chief Prosecutor: Challenges in Addressing Atrocity Crimes in Darfur, Uganda, Congo
Luis Moreno Ocampo, Chief Prosecutor of the permanent International Criminal Court, spoke via teleconference to the Northwestern Law community on November 15. Ocampa addressed the challenges confronting the court, which is currently investigating atrocity crimes in Darfur, Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The event is hosted by the Center for International Human Rights and the International Law Society.

Academics, governmental and corporate representatives, and human rights advocates from the United States and Europe gathered for a high-profile conference in Chicago on Oct. 5 and 6 to address human rights abuses against civilians in Darfur, Sudan, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Insitute Preps In-house Counsel for New Federal Rules
At Northwestern Law's 45th annual Corporate Counsel Institute, Sept. 28 and 29, participants learned how to address the federal judiciary's newly proposed rules governing electronic discovery, which take effect Dec. 1.
Hundreds of Alumni Return to Campus for Reunion 2006
Northwestern Law welcomed alumni from the classes of 1961, 1966, 1971, 1976, 1981, 1986, 1991, 1996, and 2001 for Reunion Weekend, Sept. 29 and 30. On Sept. 29 the Law School hosted Alumni Community Day, a day-long celebration that includes a memorial service for Professor Victor G. Rosenblum, a Fireside Chat with Dean Van Zandt, tours of the Law School, and more.
Panel Explores Media Coverage of High-Profile Litigation
Leading journalists, lawyers, and academics participated in a panel discussion on Sept. 14 at Northwestern Law, co-sponsored with the Medill School of Journalism, to explore inherent tensions between journalists and corporate defendants in high-profile litigation and ways to serve the interests of both.
New Northwestern Center to Study Effects of Regulation on Business
