NORTHWESTERN LAW ADOPTS CHICAGO PUBLIC SCHOOL
Northwestern University School of Law is adopting Talcott Elementary School in West Town as part of an educational
partnership with Chicago Public Schools' Futures Exchange Program. The Student Effort to Rejuvenate Volunteering (SERV)
student organization initiated this project as part of Northwestern Law's Public Service Program, which seeks to broaden
the definition of public service beyond legal work to include work in community organizations, government agencies,
and a wide variety of non-profit organizations. To learn more, click here.
CENTER ON WRONGFUL CONVICTIONS HOSTS ANNUAL DINNER NOVEMBER 6
This event will honor Kurt Bloodsworth, Cornelia Grumman, Thomas P. Sullivan, and Bernard Weisberg for their various
roles in working to reform the criminal justice system. The keynote speaker will be Congressman William Delahunt of
Massachusetts. John R. Schmidt and Dan K. Webb are chairing the event, which will be held at the Chicago Historical
Society. To learn more, click here.
ARE YOU IN A POSITION TO HIRE OR REFER AN OPPORTUNITY?
One of Northwestern Law's greatest strengths is our strong sense of community. The Center for Career
Strategy and Advancement is seeking your help. Due to the soft economy, a number of students are still looking
for summer, part-time and permanent employment. If you are in a position to hire a student or refer an opportunity,
please contact Shonagh Aylsworth, Assistant Dean for Career
Strategy. Additional information on our student population and formal recruitment programs can be found at www.law.northwestern.edu/career.
Any assistance you can provide is greatly appreciated.
