LAW SCHOOL AND MEDILL LAUNCH NEW JOINT PROGRAM IN JOURNALISM AND LEGAL STUDIES
One need only look at the complexity of stories on wrongful convictions, election disputes, and First Amendment issues post September 11 to understand the need for deeper legal reporting expertise. Northwestern Law and Medill School of Journalism are now accepting applications to a joint law and journalism program (Master of Science in Journalism and Master of Studies in Law) aimed at improving legal affairs reporting. STUDENTS PLAN 2nd ANNUAL LATINO HERITAGE WEEK
Academics, attorneys, and public officials will discuss topics such as growth in Inter-American Free Trade areas, police misconduct, minorities serving minorities in the public interest, and the formation of the United Farm Workers' Union. The week-long program, which takes place October 24-31, was organized by the Latino Law Students Association and made possible with the generous contributions of Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw, and Baker & McKenzie and several other Chicago area firms.
